The retreat program will include the following activities: Asanas (yoga postures), Breathing exercises, Meditation and positive thinking, dance workshop, personalised lifestyle coaching, advice on nutrition and diet.
Location: The retreat is situated in a quiet residential area of the isle of Losinj, minutes away from the beach. It is spacious and full of light and the rooms are of a good size and beautifully decorated. The house has several terraces with a view of the sea. It is surrounded by a lovely Mediterranean garden and situated in a pine forest. Yoga will be practiced outdoors on the largest of the four terraces, whenever the weather permits, or alternatively in the large space indoors. Wholesome and all-encompassing yoga practice is complemented by the incredibly peaceful and healing atmosphere of the island. People who appreciate breathtaking scenery and incredibly beautiful sunsets return again and again to this very special place. A perfect place to recharge and enjoy a week of yoga, fun and relaxation.
Yoga Teacher: Ganga is teaching on the Croatian retreat in June. Ganga has been the spiritual director and master teacher of the “Ananda Dhiira” yoga and wellness centre in California, USA, and has taught Hatha, Ashtanga (Raja Dhiraja Yoga), Dynamic Vinyasa flow and Sivananda yoga in India, Germany, Croatia and the US in workshops and on retreats since 1989. Nowadays she teaches yoga classes in London and on international retreats. Her teaching style emphasizes yogic breathing and relaxation as the doorway into flexibility and deepening of the yoga poses. She teaches pranayama, yoga nidra and asana as a deep psycho-physiological complementary practice, which builds the fundament for a profound and authentic spiritual enquiry. Ganga is certified at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500).
Schedule for the one week: There will be a twice daily yoga practice. Ashtanga (Raja Dhiraja form) and/or Vinyasa Flow in the morning – a dynamic and energising practice - and a more calming and relaxing afternoon workshop that focuses on different aspects of Hatha-variations, asana technique, restorative, relaxation and Yoga Nidra, meditation and satsang. We'll serve tea and fruit from 07.00 and morning practice will start at 07.30 and run until 10.00. Brunch will be served at 10.15. Evening practice will be from 16.30 to 18.30, followed by dinner at 18.45.
Other things to do: Apart from twice daily yoga classes, guests can swim in the sparkling sea, chill on one of the terraces or simply sunbathe; tranquillity will find you here. Maybe you'll fancy snorkelling to meet the local sea life, taking yourself away on an exhilarating hike on one of the many footpaths across the island, exploring local history or just strolling to the little town nearby.
Accommodation: Every bedroom has a stunning view of the Adriatic Mediterranean or else the well kept, lush surrounding gardens. The rooms are simple, clean and beautifully decorated.
Meals: The generous vegetarian lunch and dinner are served buffet style. Throughout the day guests are welcome to a wide range of teas, including soothing herbal teas, as well as fruit and nuts. For breakfast help yourself to muesli, fruit, yogurt, toast and local honeys and jams. The vegetarian food will be nutritious as well as delicious, drawing inspiration from the Croatian coastal diet which is one of the healthiest and most delicious in the world.
Weather: The average temperature in Losinj at this time of year is a warm 23-28 C (76-82 F) with the sea expected to be approx. the same temperature too.
