Yoga & Detox Retreat in Somerset

Weekend Yoga UK

Arrival: Friday evening, 31st of Aug 2012
Departure: early Monday morning, 3rd of Sep 2012

We are happy to invite you to our yoga & detox weekend at our yoga retreat centre near Glastonbury in September.
The program will include the following activities: Asanas (yogic postures or exercises), Breathing exercises, Meditation, dance workshop, advice on nutrition and diet. It is considered to be one of our best wellness retreats.

Lower Coxbridge is a stunning venue on the outskirts of Glastonbury. It is set in an unusually secluded location with stunning views towards Glastonbury Tor. It is both beautiful and tranquil. The Yoga Practice room has beautiful, wide oak floorboards and glazing at the gable end giving wonderful light and views towards the Tor.  The room leads out onto wooden decking where we will practice if the weather is good. There is a very efficient wood burner that heats the room if needed.  Due to its unique location, it is very peaceful with no sounds from roads or neighbours, only birdsong!

Location:  Lower Coxbridge is in a secluded location surrounded by fields so there are endless walks directly from the house. Glastonbury is an hour to walk or 20 minutes to cycle or a 10 minute drive.

There are endless attractions in Glastonbury including the Tor and the Abbey, 6 miles away is Wells which also hosts many sightseeing highlights most famous being the cathedral.

Yoga Teacher: Ganga is teaching on the detox yoga UK weekend in September 2011. Ganga has been the spiritual director and master teacher of the "Ananda Dhiira" yoga and wellness centre in California, USA, and has taught Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga (Rajadhiraja yoga), Dynamic Vinyasa flow and Sivananda yoga in India, Germany, Croatia and the US in yoga workshops and on retreats since 1989. At present she is the director of the Himalayan Yoga Institute and teaches yoga classes in London and on international retreats. Her teaching style emphasizes yogic breathing and relaxation as the doorway into flexibility and deepening of the yoga poses. She teaches pranayama, yoga nidra and asana as a deep psycho-physiological complementary practice, which builds the fundament for a profound and authentic spiritual enquiry. Ganga is certified at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500).

Schedule for the weekend yoga retreat: There will be a twice daily yoga practice. Ashtanga (Rajadhiraja form) in the morning and an afternoon workshop that focuses on different aspects of Hatha-variations, dynamic vinyasa flow, asana technique, restorative, pranayama, relaxation and yoga nidra, meditation and satsang.

Other things to do: During the weekend, people can walk and cycle, but also enjoy being in this wonderful venue with its peace and beautiful gardens.
