How To Celebrate The International Yoga Day

Meditation is a wonderful way to make contact with the soul. It cultivates the mind and refines it gently and with love. Just as our body needs care, so too our soul requires attention, care and mindfulness. Only you decide whether to listen to your soul in order to lovingly and consistently integrate it into your being. For this, constant mental hygiene, which can also be called "soul care", is of great importance. Meditation is an invaluable tool of mental hygiene and prepares the pathway to our soul. Singing also lifts the mind and connects us with soul, especially devotional singing and kirtan.

13 Ways to Beat Resistance and Get Back on Your Yoga Mat

You know that feeling when you leave a good yoga class. You’re euphoric. Every cell of your body thanks you for giving it exactly what it needs. You tell yourself, “I’m going to practice yoga forever. I always want to feel like this.” And for awhile — three months, six months, maybe even a year — you’re committed to a regular practice and feeling wonderful. Then something gets in the way — a short illness, an important meeting — and you skip a class or a home session. You justify it because you’re busy and you’ve been doing so well. Then it happens again. Soon, you’re out of your yoga groove and struggling to get motivated again. Why resistance happens It’s part of human nature that we tend to self-sabotage and procrastinate. Psychologists find that this behavior is often learned in early childhood and continues into adulthood, unless you take […]

The Seven Chakras – Vortexes of Power

It is fascinating that each chakra determines our relationship to the world of matter, emotion and spirit, yet the seven chakras are also the energy vortexes of psychic propensities or tendencies, as for example, fear, hatred, lethargy, shyness, effort, pride, jealousy, etc. Yoga teaches the exact location of each psychic propensity and how we can free the mind from troublesome psychic propensities to find peace and tranquillity – the requirement for meditation.

At the core of true freedom & success – is to know reality.

At the core of true freedom and success – is to know reality. “We accept the reality of the world with which we’re presented. It’s as simple as that.” Christof (The Truman Show, 1998) If someone would offer you to be Truman, if you get the chance to be plugged into a world in which you would experience a pleasant, wonderful dream-life. Would you accept? You would be rich and famous, live a happy dream life, without sorrow or pain, have wonderful relationships with dream figures, experience great things and a great dream life. And that dream world would be your reality, your life, your everything. But, you would not know that it’s a dream, an illusion pulled over your eyes – until you die. You could never get out again. Never. Would you accept that offer? Why not? Think about that. You want to live a real life. You […]

What’s the secret to the yogi’s radiant skin?

Written by Ganga Devi Today I am going to share with you an amazing, little known exercize which you can do after your home yoga practice. How to maintain healthy and glowing skin has always been a hot topic and has become even more so in today’s world where our skin is increasingly exposed to free radicals due to heavy pollution, processed foods and sedentary lifestyles. Banyan Tree at Our Ashram in South India

Our Future Yoga Teacher Training Courses and Yoga Retreats in South India

Acquisition of a new site We are very happy to announce that we have now acquired a piece of land for our new ashram and healing centre in South India. It even has a huge beautiful banyan tree, which in India is the symbol of immortality. It’s located about 2 km from the beach, near the town Pondicherry, in Tamil Nadu, the Southern tip of India. We’ll keep you posted once we start developing the land and the construction of the ashram quarters. We plan to develop the land with beautiful landscaping incorporating elements of a Zen garden, which will provide the perfect setting for meditation and yoga practice. The idea is to create an oasis of peace in a green haven based on ecological architecture. Lots of emphasis will be given to the outdoors and the gardens, where we plan to have at least one pond with cascading waterfalls. […]

Choosing the Perfect Yoga Retreat for Your Yoga Teacher Training

There are many benefits in undertaking additional yoga training, and these are not necessarily all related to the end result of becoming a teacher. Many of our trainees are interested foremost in the deepening of their own practice through a yoga retreat, and in doing so, learning about the many aspects of yoga, gaining a new perspective on their practice, and then ultimately teaching either full or part time. When I ask people about their motivation for becoming a teacher, they often say that it is because it has helped them so much in their personal life. So, whether yoga has helped them get over some physical problem, removed certain aches and pains they had, assisted in a speedy recovery from an accident, or relieved a psychological imbalance like depression, they have a very noble inspiration: to share the gift they have been given and become yoga teachers themselves. We […]

The practice of meditation and yoga in a tranquil environment allows for reflection on the breadth and depth of the experience we call life. The deep peace and relaxation achieved by the end of a yogic retreat, will allow you to bring newly found […]
